A. S. “Abe” Khan
My foray into literary world happened by accident. A setback in life troubled me sometime ago. Sometime ago, I wrote about it and read to a group of writers. Surprisingly, it produced a healing effect. Since then, I have been writing periodically on subjects I feel strongly about or to document events that matter.
My professional background bears no resemblance to literary writing. It mainly covers international business. After graduating from college with a concentration in political science, I pursued studies leading to an MBA. Subsequently, I received an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, AZ.
I worked as a product manager, marketing manager, and director of marketing for multinational companies such as Warner-Lambert and Unipex. Over my working life, I assumed functions atypical of other directors of marketing such as interfacing with attorneys, combating trademark infringements, negotiating with auditors, etc. However, the core of my activities consisted of domestic marketing, exporting, licensing, and joint a venture.
My writings focus on the messages to be conveyed, unconstrained by linguistic or literary technicalities. Consequently, they tend to be rather imperfect. But then, so am I—imperfect. I specially enjoy writing about political, economic, and social issues facing the nation.
Now retired, I devote my time to writing, gardening, and doing voluntary work for the elderly.
